Most insurance companies require that when a home is unoccupied, a competent person performs regular checks on your property in order to retain proper coverage. These requirements depend on your individual policy, so we ask you to review these details so we know exactly how frequently to schedule visits.

Beyond insurance, vacant property presents real risk. Incidents can happen, and damage can compound significantly when no one is aware of a problem for an extended period. These risks can often be avoided entirely with a home watch service in place.
At Mountainside Home Watch, we understand that every home has its own unique requirements. All clients work from the framework of our standard package, and adjustments — whether more or less — are adapted to the owner's and insurance company's specifications.

Our standard package includes scheduled multi-point inspections of the interior and exterior of your property, comprehensive written reports with photos, emergency response, and coordination with your insurance company as needed. We're happy to discuss the specifics of your property and situation to build the right plan for you.
Yes. We carry a $2,000,000 commercial liability policy. All staff hold valid and current RCMP criminal record checks, and we are licensed by the Resort Municipality of Whistler (BN 73880 5472). We're fully committed to operating at the highest professional and ethical standard.
Mountainside Home Watch provides 24/7 emergency response to fire and security alarms, as well as the assurance that your home will be checked inside and out within 24 hours of a major weather event.

If a situation arises at your property, our experience and judgment allow us to handle it with a calculated response. If the situation is a true emergency, it will be handled in the fastest, safest, and most cost-effective way possible. In a non-emergency situation, you will be contacted to discuss and implement the best course of action together.
No — a home watch service is distinct from a formal security service. That said, having a visible, regular presence at your property acts as a meaningful crime deterrent for opportunistic situations.

We work in conjunction with your alarm company and are familiar with the procedures for informing local law enforcement when required. We are here to answer alarm calls and serve as a reliable first point of contact for your property.
We understand that things can change at a moment's notice, and our service agreement can be cancelled at any time. Any prepaid visits will be credited back to you. Flexibility is important to us — we work around your schedule, not the other way around.
All inspection reports are made immediately accessible to you electronically following each visit. If required, reports can be forwarded directly to your insurance company. We understand how important timely documentation is, particularly for insurance compliance — so we make it as seamless as possible.
Absolutely. We have established relationships with a trusted group of qualified local tradespeople and service providers in Whistler. Yes — with adequate notice, we can have your home freshly cleaned, the kitchen and bar stocked to your preferences, and any other requested services organized so that everything is perfect for your arrival. We want your return to Whistler to be seamless and comfortable.
